Privacy Policy
Last updated 8 November 2026
In short: no ads, no tracking across sites, no selling of data. We keep only what the temple needs to work.
What we keep
- Your dharma name and practice: an anonymous account id, your name, the robes you chose, minutes and days sat, your role on the path, and your place in a small circle of fellow sitters.
- Your email, only if you give it, to sign you in on another device. We send sign-in codes and nothing else unless you ask.
- What you post: lanterns, wishes, locks, notes of thanks, tea-room messages, and reports you make.
- The morning bell, if you turn it on: your browser's push address and the time you chose.
- Simple usage counts: named events such as “sat”, “released a lantern” or “opened the path”, tied to the anonymous account id, so we can see whether the temple helps people return. No third-party analytics or advertising tools.
- Payments: when you buy an offering, Creem (or PayPal, if you pay with PayPal) tells us that it was paid, the amount, and which offering it was for. We never see your card or bank details. Creem's and PayPal's privacy policies cover what they collect at checkout.
- On your device: local storage keeps your name, settings and today's minutes so the site works quickly and offline.
Who processes it
- Supabase (database, sign-in, live presence) and Netlify (hosting).
- Creem (card payments, as Merchant of Record).
- PayPal (PayPal payments).
- Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts load.
- Your browser's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla) if you turn on the bell.
What others can see
Other visitors see your dharma name and robes when you sit, offerings you post, and your plaque on the patrons' wall if you made a Fuse offering. Amounts paid are never shown. The tea room uses a daily tea name, not your dharma name.
How long
We keep your data while you use the temple. Tea-room messages are shown for 24 hours. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
You can turn off the bell at any time in the settings. To see, correct or delete your data, email [email protected] from the address you saved, or tell us your dharma name and invite code. We reply within 30 days.
Changes and contact
